Step by Step Africa made a lot of great progress in 2010, and if it weren’t for our committed supporters, we wouldn’t be in such a good position going into 2011.
We continued the steady growth of our operations in Ghana this year. Build on the bedrock of supporting HIV positive mothers, we have sought new opportunities to provide assistance to the community across prevention, treatment and support.
With the steady leadership of our local staff, Paul Aborik, Step by Step Africa continues having a positive impact on the local community in northern Ghana.
A year ago, we only had two sections in our annual update: Ghana and Canada. This year, we are excited with our expansion to east Africa with our first project in Uganda where we supported Sister Anne Muduwa who operates Collaborative Hands of Love in Family Outreach (CHLFO).
2010 was our best year yet for fundraising. At our annual summer concert, we passed the $2000 mark for the first time in our history. Outside of our flagship event, we continue to expand the scope of our fundraising efforts, reaching new channels and donors.
The success we’ve had in 2010 has put us in a very strong position going into 2011. We will maintain our focus on Ghana and Uganda, but seek ways that we can increase our presence in these communities and do more for those affected by HIV/AIDS.
Of course, as we reflect on the year we’ve had, everyone at Step By Step Africa would like to thank all of our donors and supporters. Without you, we would not be able to accomplish everything that we have.
